This is a film that stays with you. It's a film about people and place - no chases and explosions. I do not agree with criticism and complaints about the length of the film. Matthew McConnahei is well melted. All the actors work well, Reese Witherspoon, Sam Shepard. TB Sheridan and Jacob Lofland did a great job in playing supporting characters. Mississippi River as a character in the film, reminiscent of Huckleberry Finn, as others have said. The settings are magnificent.
